Meet the Doctor

  • Douglas N. DeLorenzo, DPM

    Dr. DeLorenzo is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. DeLorenzo is also a Diplomate of The American Professional Wound Care Association specializing in healing difficult wounds and has extensive experience in Diabetic Foot Care and Reconstruction. He has been performing new, non-surgical treatments for heel pain like Radiofrequency Nerve Ablation that is performed as an out-patient in a Surgical Center requiring only 24 hours for the patient to be off their feet, Shock-Wave Therapy (ESWT) Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and stem cell injections which can both be performed in the office. Laser treatment for fungal nails is also performed in the office. Dr. DeLorenzo is actively involved in the teaching program for the Podiatric Surgical Residents from St. Barnabas and at the Ambulatory Surgical Center of Union County, and has been teaching Podiatric Surgical Residents for the last 20+ years.

      Dr. DeLorenzo has years of experience in treating common heel pain and plantar fasciitis using new innovative, non-surgical treatments used in Sports Medicine, where he has treated highly competitive collegiate athletes.

    • Dr. DeLorenzo lives in Manalapan with his wife Mary and two children who also hope to pursue careers in the Medical field. Dr. DeLorenzo has coached Manalapan recreation basketball and volunteered for the Manalapan Soccer Club. Dr. DeLorenzo was on the Board of Trustees for the Manalapan High School Marching Band. When not working, Dr. DeLorenzo likes to work out, mountain bike and run.
  • Patrick J. Caputo, DPM, FASPS

    Dr. Patrick (Pat) Caputo is proud to have raised his family in Monmouth County, where he has practiced all phases of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. His original office was in Hazlet before relocating to a larger space in Holmdel (across from Bayshore Hospital) in 2001. Dr. Caputo is the Founding Officer of Caputo Foot & Ankle Centers of NJ and managing partner of Holmdel Foot & Ankle Center and Holmdel Wound Care Center, LLC. Serving Monmouth and Middlesex Counties, the office is easy to reach from all the Bayshore towns as well as Matawan, Aberdeen, Middletown, Old Bridge, The Amboys, Sayreville, Colts Neck, Tinton Falls, Marlboro and Manalapan. He is excited about joining his practice with Dr. Douglas DeLorenzo.

    • Patrick J. Caputo, DPM, is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and maintains the distinguished title of “Diplomate” by keeping current and passing the re-certification exams every ten years (2001, 2011, 2021).
    • His expertise in Wound Care and Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFU) extends to his time as a Staff Podiatrist at the VA Medical Center in East Orange and Newark (1984 – 1991). Dr. Caputo was part of the team of doctors that eventually set up the first East Orange-VA Diabetic Foot Clinic.
    • He is an original member of the Physician Panel of the award winning Center for Wound Healing at Bayshore Hospital (a Division of Hackensack-Meridian Health). Dr. Caputo’s skill in Diabetic Wound Care includes managing complications associated with Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFU), Diabetic Neuropathy, Charcot Foot Wounds, and Venous Leg Ulcers (VLU).     • In addition to Wound Care and Surgery, Dr. Caputo is active in treating injuries and lower extremity pain associated within the sub-specialty of Podiatric Sports Medicine.
    • As a Podiatrist, Dr. Caputo explains, 'Board Certified in Foot Surgery also means knowing when not to do surgery. We also use non-surgical approaches in Sports Medicine includes Biomechanics and Physical Therapy to alleviate common podiatric problems such as ankle sprains, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, and Achilles tendonitis'.
    • New 3D Apple iPad-based computer technology is used for Custom Designed Orthotics. Accurate scans are completed in seconds (and without the mess of plaster). Custom 3D Orthotics should not be confused with standing force plates which are NOT 3D technology.

    Respected By His Peers

    • Dr. Caputo has served in high levels on many committees and Boards, including the Board of Trustees of the NJ Podiatric Medical Society and Physician Member of the Management Committee at the Center of Specialty Surgery of Middletown.
    • During his affiliation with Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank (1986-2008), Dr. Caputo was elected by his peers to the position of Section Chief of Podiatric Surgery and appointed as Podiatry Liaison of Diabetes Management.
    • More recently, Dr. Caputo was elected by the entire Medical Staff at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel to serve 2 terms on the respected Medical Executive Committee.

    Personal

    • Dr. Caputo is an advocate of volunteerism and community involvement. He is Past President of the Hazlet Rotary Club. He enjoys mentoring and career counseling small groups of undergraduates at his beloved alma mater, Rutgers University. Married for 42 years, he reflects fondly on raising his kids in Lincroft section of Middletown and the 10 rewarding seasons coaching them in Lincroft Little League and other Middletown Rec sports. Jokingly, Dr. Caputo and his wife Lisa admit that their kids never made the Major Leagues in sports, but they are so proud that their son is a Urologist in Lewes, Delaware, and their daughter is a certified Dance teacher and Choreographer in Neptune City.
  • Jasmeet Chawla, DPM

    Dr. Jasmeet Chawla is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He graduated from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ with a bachelor's degree in Biology and then received his medical degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.

    He went on to complete a three-year surgical residency at NYU Langone Health, where he served as chief resident during his final year. This unique combination of surgical and academic environment has allowed Dr. Chawla to remain up to date on the latest conservative and surgical treatment options for foot and ankle conditions. During his residency at NYU Langone, he published research in peer reviewed journals while being trained under leading experts in Foot and Ankle Surgery. 

    Dr. Chawla has extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery, attending lectures, workshops, conferences to keep his skills up-to-date with current research/literature. He currently works with the podiatric residents at CentraState Hospital where he holds both surgical and inpatient privileges.

    In his free time, Dr. Chawla enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children, watching sports, and trying new cuisines/restaurants. He is a self-proclaimed coffee expert and loves trying coffee from all around the world. Dr Chawla coaches his twin boys’ baseball team and volunteers multiple times a year with the Indian Health Camp of NJ for screening, prevention, and education for chronic disease.
